A CONVICT'S TALE-GLOSSARY

We have finished our reading book and it was a very good book, and I am going to post the new vocabulary that I have learned.

This is the glossary from Chapter 7 to 12:
Whistle: sound that you make with your mouth.
Toward: in the direction of.
Searchlight: torch with strong beam.
Proof: evidence.
Fugitives: escaped person.
Cabbage: type of vegetable.
Console: comfort emotionally.
Raw: things in a line.
Lifeless: without life.
Tool: instrument that help you to do something.
Dig: turn soil with a spade.
Collapse: falling down
Fever: high temperature.
Torn: with tears.
Wounds: injury caused by weapon.
Chest: front of torso.
Fist: closed hand.
Tent: camping.
Gates: door in a fence on property.
Fiancé: the person who you are going to marry with.
Widow: surviving wife.
Timing: picking right time to do something.
Shallow: not deep.
